Compuceeds is a virtual currency. As such, it is a digital asset that you have earned or been paid for working online or contributing activities worthy of receiving it. As an asset, it is also called by the IRS as property and to earn cash with a property means one thing: sell it.
Paypal on the other hand is a payment processor. You fund it with credit cards or cash. And paypal shows a representation of your cash on your screen. As you spend it, merchants receive your payment in cash less service charges.
The same way is true with an online bank account. Online bank accounts only shows you the representation of your cash. That representation is not classified as an asset. What is shown to you is what you have lent the bank for safekeeping and in the process earn interest if you're lucky enough to maintain it.
